It’s official — the 11th annual chili cook-off was a complete blow out and potentially the best ever.
The party started with perfect weather and was picked up a notch when Steve Thurman unveiled his home brew beer to kick off the party. Steve brought three beers with friend Noah kicking in a fourth. Thanks for the beer guys!
- Dirty Blonde Ale
- The Queens Brisith Ale
- TroutTamer Ale
- Hazy Moon Pale Ale
Over the next hour the chili’s filled up the chili table until we had 13 entries. That’s the most since we have been hosting the party at the house. The chili tasting opened up at 4pm and it was like unleashing a mob of just released ex-cons at a lunch buffet. Dixie cups were flying everywhere. People were talking about the hottest, the best meat and the different flavors. By the time the dust settled it was clear this chili cook-off had produced the highest quality chili’s of any year. Voting was close and we ended up with a tie for first place between Craig Wood and Shana Barr. Third was a three way tie between Geno Mancinelli, Ric Ohlfs and Kevin McCarthy.
Nice work everyone — we loved all the chili, company and cool beverages. Hope to see you all next year.
