For a tasty yet inexpensive steak the tri-tip fits the bill.
The tri-tip comes from the sirloin and it’s got a ton of great flavor. The rectangular shape is a dead giveaway and it usually comes in a couple pound package.
For cooking, it’s best to cook the tri-tip medium rare. There’s not a lot of fat on the tri-tip so overcooking will dry it out quickly.
This grilled tri-tip was sliced thin and serverd with avacado and fresh squeezed lime juice.
